Disney’s Fairy Tale Wedding Showcase at Walt Disney World

When: Friday, March 13, 2020 – Sunday, March 15, 2020

Where: Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

Price: $45* per person (Showcase Ballroom Admission and Walking Venue Tour)

Earlier
this year, on Saturday, March 14th, Walt Disney World help their 2020
Disney’s Fairy Tale Wedding Showcase at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort
& Spa. This was actually the same weekend when Disney announced it
would be closing due to COVID-19. My family and I were actually on our
flight from PA to FL when we heard the news. Luckily, the showcase was
still ON since it was occurring before the closing date. I am so glad we
were able to still take a mini trip and checkout the showcase because
not only was it a lot of fun but I highly recommend attending a showcase
if you have the opportunity, especially if you are planning a Disney
wedding! Here are some photos from the showcase and a recap on what the
showcase had to offer:

I
attended the wedding showcase with my mother and sister (MOH). As I
previously mentioned, the showcase took place on Saturday, March 14th.
Tickets were $45 per person and included a swag bag, admission to the
ballroom showcase, and a walking venue tour.

We
started our day off checking-out the ballroom showcase that was filled
with vendors, table set-ups, food tastings, drink tastings, and more!

My sister got us these cute shirts made up to wear to the showcase!! We were loving all of the decor Disney had set up!

There were 2 dance floors out for display and one of their DJ’s playing music!

One
of the stations included cupcakes with different cake and icing
flavors. I tried the chocolate with cookies & cream icing. it was
delicious! They also had gluten free options!

There
were several other food stations. Some of my favorites included the
carbonara pasta (SO good! I may need this on my wedding day haha) and
Thai Noodles with a Peanut Sauce.

In
addition to food, you could stop by one of the few bars they had set up
throughout the showcase and try one of their signature drinks like the
glass slipper!

The
showcase also had a floral preservation vendor, a photo screen vendor, a
photography table where you could check out some of their
photographer’s work!

Another
really cool thing about the showcase was the famous carriage (pictured at the top of the post)! Not far
from the carriage was the Major Domo holding the glass slipper! Fun
Fact: You can hire the Major Domo at your Disney Wedding..he does a
variety of tasks such as ring berarer (in the glass slipper of course!),
announce you as Mr. & Mrs. for the first time at your ceremony and
reception, he can also do formal announcements of your bridal party at
your reception! Such a cool and unique feature to add to your Disney
wedding!

You
could also learn about having a wedding through for Disney Cruise Line
and also weddings at Disney’s Vero Beach Resort in Vero Beach, FL (this
is where my sister had her Disney Wedding in 2017!!)

After
we were done at the ballroom showcase, we took advantage of the free
limo service they were offering to take you from the convention
center/ballrooms over to the Wedding Pavilion!

Next,
we got to tour the Disney’s Wedding Pavilion! This is where we are
getting married next year. It was so exciting to check out the venue and
everything it has to offer.

Next, we took a walk over to FRANCK’S! This is where you get to attend your planning session when you have a Disney Wedding!

Following
the Wedding Pavilion tour, we took the rest of the walking tour to
check-out a few of the other venues offered around the Grand Floridian
and Polynesian Resort.

The
Summerhouse had a really cute set-up with some tables to show how a
reception could be set up and also a vintage VW bus that you can book
for your wedding that includes a DJ booth, Photobooth AND bar!

Next,
we walked over to the Polynesian Resort to check-out Luau Point! This
is such a neat venue! If i hadn’t picked the Wedding Pavilion, I wold
love a little wedding over at Luau Point.

To
conclude the day, we headed down to Disney Springs for Dinner at The
Edison to celebrate my brother’s birthday (which also happened to be
that day!) Also I think it’s fun to mention this was my last meal “out”
for 4+ months with everything closing down!

Overall,
the wedding showcase was so fun and it gave me a chance to see our
wedding venues, get some ideas for decor and floral and taste some food
and cake options!

PS: If you enjoyed reading about the showcase, I will be writing up a mini review on our afternoon tea at the Garden View Tea Room next!
